:: First Halloween ::

:: HAPPY HALLOWEEN ::

Brogan and Mom before going to the sitters with his "Baby's first Boo" onesie
Hey its Charlie Brown, Snoopy!! and his pumpkin :)

First we stopped over at the Frylings, we were hoping to see Brogan's little girlfriend Kyla, but she wasn't there yet, so we helped pass out some candy to the trick-or-treaters

Then it was off to Great-Grandma and Grandpa King's house!

Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Rivera's... where we saw cousin Elizabeth!

Mr. Charlie Brown was quite tired by this point, so Grandma Alyce watched Brogan all night so Mom could go to a friends Halloween Party! He had so much fun! We missed you Buddy!!!

:: Carving my first Pumpkin ::

(Brogan saying dad in sign language- we've been working on this one!)

Well we didn't have time to carve Brogan's pumpkin while Buddy was home, so we did it on Thursday night before Halloween... I know way to procrastinate :) but as I said before we have been SUPER busy lately!

Brogan wasn't too sure about this whole pumpkin thing, so he had to use his 5 sense's to figure this one out! I'd say he applied it pretty well! take a look
First we'll use touch- with one hand
Then the other hand...

Hmm, I wonder which of the senses we are going to use next...

OHH yes.. smell we'll try and see if our head will fit in the hole... hahaLets see we still haven't figured this thing out... what else can we do?
Oh yes... Taste.... :)

Here's a video too!

Brogan was putting everything in his mouth so he couldn't play with the guts, but we settled for the spoon ...

Buddy was really upset that he couldn't make it home for this holiday, so we decided to make a Daddy pumpkin!! Complete with the side smile that Brogan and him share :) We love you Buds!!

:: Klackles Orchard with Daddy and Mommy ::

Buddy was able to catch a ride home with a friend this weekend, so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take Brogan to a pumpkin patch/apple orchard together as a family!

I found this place through a friend, it is Klackels Orchard, they have so much fun stuff to do! It will be better when Brogan is a little older but just some of the things they have for the kids are face/finger painting, a petting zoo, a hayride to pick a 1/4 peck of apples, enchanted pumpkin rides, playgrounds, pumpkin bounce, pony and camel rides, peddle tractor races, and so much more for only $8 and its about 40 minutes away!

We also of course got some warm apple cider and doughnuts to take home... Apple cinnamon and pumpkin spice were Mom's favorites! It was also nice because it was kind of chilly that day.

We finally found Brogan his first Pumpkin! I think we just needed daddy's expertise in this area
:)

PS Today was Michigan vs Michigan State day, and you can see Brogan is supporting his colors ... GO BLUE :)

Busy week coming up!!!

:: 3 top Teeth ::

Well the top teeth were on their way, we could see a line of white on Brogan's top gums when he laughed so we knew they were coming soon! The morning of the 17th I woke up to Brogan with a 102 degree fever and runny nose, poor boy, but his three top teeth poked through! I guess he was just trying to get them all out of the way at once his right front tooth and the two on the side of his front teeth, maybe he should be Dracula for Halloween?!?!

:: Robinettes Apple Haus ::

Sorry I haven't posted in a while... here they all come! Its been a busy couple of weeks!

Sunday Oct 12th it was BEAUTIFUL out. It was in the 80's down here so my friend Jamie and I took Brogan out to Robinettes. It is about 25 minutes north of here and it is an apple orchard and pumpkin patch.

We wanted to buy some apple cider and some doughnuts, and BOY were they good, Brogan even got to try a little bit!

We went on the search for the perfect pumpkin but since there were so many people out that day because of the weather, all the good ones seemed to be taken :( Brogan tried to talk me into buying the big HUGE ones... but they were $35.00 maybe next year! :)

::Sugarloaf Mountain ::

Sunday morning it was BEAUTIFUL outside, so we decided to take Brogan hiking up Sugarloaf Mountain. This was one of my favorite things to do when I lived in the UP. Its so nice to be outside in the crisp fall weather and be able to look MILES and MILES and see all the leaves changing colors!

The GORGEOUS view of the land

::Family::
Brogan had such a good time up there! He was laughing and playing with his Daddy! Heres a video of them "Running around" :)

::Introduction::

Although his life was unplanned Brogan has brought so much joy to ours. We found out we were pregnant May 21st, 2007, and what a shock that was. Looking back on that time now, as i look into his big blue eyes, I don't think we ever could have known what happiness he would bring with his arrival. I worked right up until my water broke at 4:40pm on January 15th. My heart was beating so fast as Buddy met me at my house (after i had to call and pull him out of an interview to let him know it was "TIME", he got the phone call he had wanted! Since I was scheduled to have an induction on the Thursday following and we both really wanted it to happen naturally. We got to the hospital between 6 and 6:30 and i was dilated to 5. After I got the epidural around 8:30 -9 I dilated to 10 within the hour, but was so numb that I could not feel my contractions to push. Poor Brogan was stuck there for another 3 hours with his head just trying to come out! We turned down the epidural, and when I could feel enough to push, it only took 1 hour and our baby boy was delivered into this world by his Daddy and Grandma Wood at 1:51 am on January 16th 2008. Grandma R and Aunt Chelsea and Aunt Brooke were also there to share that special moment and capture it with photographs and video. The rest of the family came in shortly after. What an amazing experience this has been...
