:: One Month Of Blessings ::

One month old already, and WOW is all I can say, does time fly. From the first moment until now there have been so many wonderful times and blessings with our little Brogan. This has truly been one of the most wonderful times of my life... trying... new...

....and wonderful.

There have been so many things you don't think of through the 9 months of pregnancy, things like how many diapers they really DO go through, and that they are actually helpless. You'd never know how bad you would feel for them when they get that first cold, and they can't blow their nose (much less suck a pacifier and breath at the same time :( poor Brogan ). Thankfully we are done with that though, although found out I am quite the worry wart!But then they start to grow, and do things on their own, like rolling over and holding up their heads! Its been so cool to watch him learn. He is beginning to coo and "talk" to us a lot! He's very alert now and notices peoples familiar faces and loves to watch them and interact with them. He's also liking his tummy time a lot and really surprised me when he rolled over! What a strong boy! As far as toys go, his baby gym, and swing are OK for about 10 minutes, then I think he gets over stimulated with the baby gym's colors and patterns, and just isn't a fan of his swing all together yet.

When we went to his one month baby visit, he got the stamp of approval from the doctor! His new stats are:
9lbs 6 oz
23 in long
39cm- head
:: BIG and HEALTHY ::

What a change from when we left the hospital! He was 7lbs 6 oz when he was born, and when we left the hospital he weighed 6lbs 15 oz. Thats a weight gain of over 2 lbs!!! and about 4 inches!! I guess we don't have to worry about him starving! He's such a good baby and eats so well (to well sometimes, he likes to gulp it down,and sometimes eats a little to fast and it comes back up!).

Night time has been good too! Mom is so happy! If we can all time it right, Brogan sleeps for about a good 6 hour period at night, and most nights so do I. This has been a real blessing for me. The adjusting to his schedule has really taken some getting used to, but were thankful aside from the few nights he's decided to eat every hour and a half, that those were mostly kept to the minimum.

Everyone is getting along with Brogan great, and loves on him as much as possible! Morgann (my younger sister) has been a HUGE help throughout this adjustment period. She snuggles and watches him anytime I need, which is really nice when we have quick trips to the store for diapers or just a quick get away. Both Grandparents have been a blessing to have. If its a babysitter, or just a listening ear for worrying or to get new parent advice from we wouldn't have made it through this month without you! Its been so much fun to see all the aunts and uncles with their reaction to Brogan's birth. Its really brought all of us a lot closer! Even the pets, Fabio and Elnah at my house, and Sheeba, and Karl have all taken the transition really well! They love to sniff him. Fabio thought he was a play toy and got really excited! And Elnah isn't to sure about him yet but loves to snuggle with me and him for a "cat nap" the three of us, and I have even caught her trying to find a way to jump into the crib, but settles for snuggling underneath it.

Brogan has so many expressions and arm movements and coo's and different cries and I am beginning to understand and learn what they mean. It's so much fun, and there is something new everyday. Buddy has been such a help. I would never have been able to do this without him. He loves Brogan sooooo much, I have never seen someone more in love with their son. I have many times woken up from taking a nap and found the two of them laying on the couch snuggling together taking a nap of their own, and can't help but smile as I fall in love with the two of them all over again. We are going to miss him so much when he goes to play football for a couple months, but can't wait for all the games and new and exciting adventures this will bring for our little family, and we'll be waiting for the day we are all back together again! TOUCHDOWN DADDY'S TEAM!!God has a reason for everything and a Perfect plan. I am so excited to see what the up coming months bring for Buddy, Brogan and my lives. Thank you everyone for being a part of this AWESOME experience. We Love you all!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

Almost 4 weeks old!!!

Well the last week has been eventful. Buddy, myself, and Brogan were all sick with a cold. We took him to the doctor on Friday last week because he sounded congested and was acting a lot more fussy than normal and had a lot of goobers in his eye, and we just wanted to be safe. They said it was a cold and gave us some drops for his eyes and nose to keep them a little bit more clear and help him to breath easier.
Were all getting better now though!

Brogan is getting so strong!!! He's been lifting his head a lot more, and also trying to roll over!! He actually did it once! Here's a video of an attempt, although he couldn't quite get his head to work with his body! He sure loves his tummy time!

We also have been trying out his swing more lately. He likes it at first, but if its anytime close to when he ate, it makes him toss his cookies! So were still working on the swing too, but other than that he loves it!!!

Slept through the night!

^Big OLE Lips just like Daddy :)^

Well Brogan slept through the night last night! Mommy was so happy!!! 1:00a -8:30a YAY!! Daddy came over to help out since mom was so tired from the night before. But when mom woke up at 8 and came out to find dad on the couch he said, "Did you get up to feed him? Because he never woke up" We ran to the crib first to check and see if he was breathing, but there he was still SOUND asleep!!! He's such a good baby!

Here is a couple videos of Him!! I am getting so alert now!

Superbowl Sunday!

Even though our first Superbowl didn't turn out as we would have liked (we were rooting for the Patriots), we still had FUN!!! We went over to Grandma and Grandpa Rivera's house for a double celebration! It was Grandpa's Birthday! We baked him Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookies, brought a carton of milk, and got him a really cool card that played music when you opened it. He loved it! Can't Touch this!

Aunt Brooke, and Ashley, and Uncle Caleb were all there to hang out with me too! I wore my special football jammies, and brought my football rattle to throw at the TV when there was a bad call! I slept through pretty much the whole thing though because I had LOTS of attention and snuggle time from all the aunties, uncle, and gma and gpa. When I get warm, I just SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP. Unfortunately for mom since I slept the whole game, I stayed up pretty much all night which made for a really long day. We'll get back on schedule soon hopefully! A small price to pay for a fun night!

::Introduction::

Although his life was unplanned Brogan has brought so much joy to ours. We found out we were pregnant May 21st, 2007, and what a shock that was. Looking back on that time now, as i look into his big blue eyes, I don't think we ever could have known what happiness he would bring with his arrival. I worked right up until my water broke at 4:40pm on January 15th. My heart was beating so fast as Buddy met me at my house (after i had to call and pull him out of an interview to let him know it was "TIME", he got the phone call he had wanted! Since I was scheduled to have an induction on the Thursday following and we both really wanted it to happen naturally. We got to the hospital between 6 and 6:30 and i was dilated to 5. After I got the epidural around 8:30 -9 I dilated to 10 within the hour, but was so numb that I could not feel my contractions to push. Poor Brogan was stuck there for another 3 hours with his head just trying to come out! We turned down the epidural, and when I could feel enough to push, it only took 1 hour and our baby boy was delivered into this world by his Daddy and Grandma Wood at 1:51 am on January 16th 2008. Grandma R and Aunt Chelsea and Aunt Brooke were also there to share that special moment and capture it with photographs and video. The rest of the family came in shortly after. What an amazing experience this has been...
